    Decide whether you want your Memory Maker experience to capture audio or video, and decide whether you would like to lead the conversation or have a journalist guide it.

  • 2. Come into the studio.

    Your loved one will be welcomed into a relaxed space designed to make the experience feel comfortable and unhurried, while ensuring the audio is high quality.

  • 3. Record the conversation.

    Together, we will capture memories, stories, reflections and moments to remember in their own words. Ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask about childhood, family traditions, big life moments, favourite memories, lessons learned and the people and places that shaped a life.

  • 4. We apply a light-touch edit.

    The recording is professionally edited into a thoughtful keepsake your family can listen to or watch again and again

  • 5. Receive your finished Memory Maker.

    Your final recording is provided on a beautifully packaged USB memory stick, ready to keep, gift and share.

  • Memory Maker is for families who want to capture the stories, voice, memories and reflections of their loved ones, including grandparents, parents, partners and family friends.

  • We organise all the technical details and set up for the recording. All you need to do is arrange for your loved one to be there for a lovely, relaxed conversation, guided either by you or, should you prefer, an experienced journalist.

  • Yes. You can choose an audio-only podcast-style recording or a video recording that captures the voice, expressions and presence of your loved one.

  • Our studio is in the CBD with plenty of parking available both on-street and nearby. We can arrange recording both during office hours and after hours, to best suit your needs.

  • We recommend you walk into your Memory Maker experience with an idea of the sorts of questions you want to ask. Think about the stories you want to explore, the memories you want your guest to share, the things you want to learn and the conversations you want to preserve for years to come. If you are having one of our journalists conduct the interview, we will send a pre-interview questionnaire and will schedule a prior phone conversation in preparation.

  • Yes. Memory maker offers a family-led conversation option, allowing you to lead the conversation with your loved one directly. Alternatively, you can choose to have one of our professional, in-house journalists lead the conversation.

  • Childhood memories, family traditions, big life moments, favourite memories, lessons learned, relationships, places, values and personal reflections.

  • No. We’ll take the recording and apply a light-touch professional edit to enhance the clarity of the interview.

  • We’ll provide you the recorded conversation on a beautifully packaged USB or digital file. We’ll also provide you with a transcript of the conversation.

  • Yes. You can record up to two people at once during your Memory Maker experience, perfect for capturing conversations with married couples, siblings or other dynamic duos in your life. If you’re looking to record more than two people at once, please get in touch with our team.

  • A standard Memory Maker session takes 1 hour. That includes time to arrive, settle in and start recording.

  • Our Memory Maker sessions have been designed to be calm and comfortable experiences for everyone involved. When you arrive, our team will walk you through the whole process before you even hit record, so you and your loved one can prepare for your conversation.
